Pop Up Shops at Rosewill Cottage

It's been a long time since I wrote our last blog piece and there is simply no reason for this to be the case as there is a lot going on behind the scenes at Rosewill Cottage which we could have blogged about, it's just we've been short on time.

We've secured some really good booking from the North Tyneside Art Studio at the Linskell Centre, North Shields. We've also taken a few bookings from
care homes in Newcastle upon Tyne to compliment the bookings we have from our local eldery care providers which is great! More details about these community projects will be available on our News page soon!

We brought the
partytable onto the shop floor which has been a massive improvement and the kids love it. It's easier for them to move around now and we get a lot of people taking advantage of the drop in sessions where people can make a bracelet or necklace for just £3.50 too! We still use our back room as a place to have party food and perhaps a game or two if time permits.

Our latest exciting development is the
Handcrafty Beggar Scheme which incorporates a pop up shop for the one day within Rosewill Cottage. We're fully behind Mary Portas' thoughts that people should be given a chance to see what it is like to be in a bricks and mortar shop so I have embraced the idea and approached a good friend, Heidi from Make Scents, to be my guinea pig.

So for one day only on Saturday 4 February 2012 Heidi will be setting up her "Make Scents Pop Up Shop" and will be welcoming people to smell and in some cases test some of the lovely lotions, creams, bath bombs and soaps, all of which will make ideal Valentine's Day gifts! I have a few photos of some of the items she will be bringing with her:

Poppy scented exfoliating soaps.

In readiness for Valentines Day which really isnt too far away...... Pink Sugar Heart Soaps! This is a seriously heavenly scent.

Jellybean Man soaps. A massive hit with the youngsters of the family. You can't blame them like. They are cute!

If you would like to order from Heidi's website for delivery at the shop for collection we don't mind.

Fingers crossed this scheme will be as successful as the
Rent a Square Scheme!
